1. mindful of the results, usefulness, advantages or disadvantages, etc., of action or procedure.

Too often, I like to fancy myself as a practical human being. For example: This morning, as I was thinking about what to wear today, I remembered that I would have a church meeting tonight and would have to change into something "church appropriate" later in the day. Thinking that I was being smart, I chose a shirt that would go well with the jeans I would be wearing all day, as well as with the skirt for which I would be swapping out the jeans in the evening. As I showered, I thought of my genius.
But then the ginormous block of cheese which I got at Costco last week, and is still sitting on my shelf in the fridge, popped into my mind. Not practical. I am a single, lactose intolerant "college" girl who, more often than not, opens up a can of corn for dinner rather than make an entire meal once getting home from work.
The humongous box of Fruit by the Foot also purchased at last week's mistake of a shopping trip? EXTREMELY practical. I'm halfway finished already.
You win some, you lose some.
