On celebrating Presidents' Day weekend

Back in December our ward held a service auction to help families in our area have a good Christmas.  One of the things that one of our leaders donated was a snowmobiling trip for sometime this winter.  Dillon bought it and we redeemed it last weekend for the Presidents' Day holiday.

Let me tell you people:  I am a super duper cautious person and this was dangerous.  I almost died.

Okay, I didn't.  But it felt like it a time or two.  Like when we were just snowmobiling it up all over and across a lake that was supposedly frozen.  What the? How do they know?! It's covered in snow!

Dillon was actually very safe and could mostly tell if I was freaking out so he would reach back and squeeze my leg in what I assumed was assurance.

All in all, it was a really beautiful trip and I didn't freeze until the very end.  Success!

And then we went to warmer climates!!  After hanging out at the couple's cabin for a bit and getting dinner, we headed down to spend the rest of the weekend in St. George and its oh so warm, beautiful, sunny weather exploring Snow Canyon.  Man, it is beautiful there. And just like Miley sings, we got the best of both worlds.

And we thought we'd have ourselves a photo shoot.  ^^^ That was the best one...jk jk but seriously.

On being a math student

You guys, I went back to school recently. Maybe you know that already, but what you really need to know is that I am a math student.  Guys, I am the worst math student known to man.  I mean unless, of course, someone else wants to fight for that title, in which case they can totes have it, but only after we have a math off to determine who actually sucks at math the most, in which case they will probably find out that it is indeed me.

Anyway, the most important part of this little mathy tidbit is that my math teacher is so great.  He is originally from Taiwan and only came to the U.S. 12 years ago so he speaks with an accent.  It's a good one, though, and he really knows English well.  But is does make math class more fun, that's for sure.

I wish you all could be there in class with me to hear him say, after every problem we go through,"Isthaokayyyy?!" or have him giggle uncontrollably about a principle that could easily be misunderstood which he just explained or have him tell us that when we understand something right off the bat or very well, that we should throw our pens down in celebration.

It is so great.  Math is fun.

On being cavity free

Well, I'm not right now, so that's cool.  I tell ya, fluoride does wonders.

I guess I got too much of it back when my teeth were forming so I have white patches on some of my teeth, but not having cavities until I was 25 sure was neat in exchange.  Too bad that eventually wore off.

To my despair, I got one bajillion (eight!!) cavities in the two years after I turned 25.

The other day I got my teeth cleaned (SUCH a great feeling--once it's over...) and I only had one cavity! But soon, I will be back to being cavity free.  Can't wait!
