The Vegas Extravaganza Part Two

I did post this a week ago but I guess I'm not that savvy of a blogger and it somehow disappeared.  Whoops.

I had never before been to a work conference so, when given the opportunity to head to Vegas with the entire dental office, I was totally in on the plan to go to a team building workshop despite the long, boring hours of the seminar which I knew were ahead of us.

We left on Tuesday night after a long day at the office, arriving at our hotel around 11 pm.  There was a mix up somehow and we ended up being in rooms on the smoking floor.  After a quick call to the front desk, the informed us that there were absolutely no rooms that night on any of the non-smoking floors but that they would gladly send up a man who would use a little machine that was supposed to suck all the smoke out of our rooms, if we would kindly leave for an hour--at 11:30 at night, and then put us in new rooms the next day.  That was out deal, take it or leave it.  We took it.  From 11:30 to around 12:30 on our first night in Vegas we were down in the casino.  Needless to say, I didn't get my 10 and a half hours of sleep that night.

During the next few days, I learned lots and lots about productivity and teamwork.  My coworkers learned lots and lots about me.  Most of what they learned touched on my eating, sleeping, and reading habits.  I do all three in excess (Harry Potter by the pool was the highlight of my trip).

I was able to go to the Las Vegas Temple on Thursday night, not breaking my Thursday Temple Night streak.  It was nice and pretty and everything that the rest of Vegas wasn't.  

All in all, it was a fun trip filled with sin, learning, more sin, warm weather, even more sin, taking a break from the office, and lots more sin (all of this sin was going on around me, I was not partaking).
