I was hoping to be able to sleep a fair amount of the flight since it was overnight, but I never expected to sleep for pretty much all of the 10 hour flight! That was super great. We went from LA to Oslo and then from Oslo to Amsterdam, getting in at 9 pm Monday night local time. I was a little worried about getting on a good schedule since we arrived at night just a few hours after having slept an entire flight, but I guess lugging a heavy bag around a foreign country will tire you out ;)
Our first week has been a very fast paced week, and the second is only turning out to be slightly slower. Our third week will be even slower, and I can't say I'm mad about that ;)
We started with a couple days in Amsterdam where we went out to the Keukenof Gardens and checked out the city, then moved on to Belgium where we went to both Bruges and Brussels. We then finished the week by flying to Estonia and seeing Tallinn, and then Parnu on our way to Lithuania, which is where we started our second week. It's mostly been pretty overcast and slightly rainy, but we were expecting that since, spring, you know?
There's too much to tell about each place, though I am keeping a better personal journal than I am a blog ;)
So, a million pictures:
So maybe I like flowers...
And that's the end of Amsterdam, so if you're tired of pics, leave now!!
End of Bruges (which I loved)
The last two pics are of where we stayed.
End of Brussels
This is the Irish Embassy in Estonia where we voiced our desire to see inside while a man was going through the private gate and he invited us in to see the renovations being made to the residential family wing of the Ambassador aka HIMSELF.
Their slogan was "Probably the best steaks in town!"
End of Tallinn, Estonia
The Baltic Sea
End of Parnu, Estonia
Our week ended as we took a bus through Estonia to get to Lithuania, but we got to stop in Parnu, Estonia for church at a very small branch. It was fun to see the missionaries and it was so nice of them to translate for us. The Branch President had us share our testimonies, which they also had to translate. And small world, one of the sisters was from St. George and said that her sister knows my brother-in-law.
Wish us luck on our next week of fast paced traveling!
Man, this all looks amazing. But most importantly, why were there tools in the chocolate display? Were they like chocolate tools or something? Seriously, I'm confused.
ReplyDeleteAlso I wish I had all the flowers in my house. Or at least in my yard. Or at least a yard.
