"And first you take the chicken!!"

By show of hands, who knows that I like to eat?  If you didn't raise your hand just now, know this:

I LOVE FOOD!!

I love it so much that when I saw that Macey's (not the national department store, the local grocery store here in Utah) offers cooking classes, I signed up immediately.

March's lineup is a good one with lots of St. Patrick's Day activities, delicious desserts, and ethnic foods such as Thai and RUSSIAN.

We went to our first class on Tuesday night, which was learning how to make "Grandma's Cream Cheese Pie" which was pretty much just cheesecake.

The teacher was a riot because he was SOOO nervous.  Apparently I'm "affirming" and nod a lot while making eye contact when I listen so he basically taught only me the entire time.  Seriously, the dude stared me down as he explained science stuff like why cardboard boxes insulate and why wood doesn't conduct heat, and what have you.
  
We learned that the teacher was actually a regular class member and had been wanting to teach this particular dish for a while.  Other regulars who attended were the three homeless people who sat in the row ahead of us.

Stacy:  "Serious question.  Is that person a man or a woman?"

It was a man.  With a bag of cigarette butts in his pocket.

It was a wonderful experience which, hopefully, will be repeated repeatedly.  I can't wait for borch night at the end of the month!
