But before we all got sick, we enjoyed celebrating Valentine's Day, and Lydia was mischievous and colored all over the walls and cabinets. Then she took off her diaper during nap time, and unfortunately the diaper was a poopy one. Double yuck. Thankfully Dillon was about to head home and told me to take care of Lydia and leave the gross crib to him.
After we all got over RSV, we took away the babies' pacifiers (successfully!). I had wanted to do it ages ago, but they slept so well with them that I kept putting it off. I didn't want to ruin a good thing, but I was more worried about their teeth and speech so I bit the bullet. I planned it out for a Friday so that if things were bad at least there would be two of us to deal with it. Dillon was supposed to be home from work right after their nap so that we could do it together, but he got hung up and we jut facetimed him for it.
I had gotten each child a minky blanket and put them in gift bags for them to open as a present. I told them that it was time to be done with pacifiers and that if they threw it away, they could have a present. They beelined it for the trash, threw them in, then all ran to sit down for their present. It went better than planned or expected and I'm so glad! That night they all went to bed without even asking about their pacifiers and loved snuggling their blankets, especially Beck who I thought would have the hardest time. He did end up questioning where his pacifier was a couple nights later, but we reminded him he threw it away and he was fine. Miracle of miracles! I seriously can't stress enough how differently we thought this would go, mostly based on how things have been in the past. But, whew, glad that is over!
Another highlight of February was making homemade pizzas together as a family, just like they do on Daniel Tiger for Valentine's Day. It was pretty cute! We've made quite a few pizzas together since and I love it every time.
We ended the month with a trip to St George. Winter is hard for me and trips to warm weather help me so much. We hope to live there someday, but in the meantime we are grateful we can visit Dillon's parents (who the babies call RaRa and Papa).
And now, all the pictures!
Just a casual morning with Lydia, and just lots of playing in general!
We get all our books from the thrift store and here one we had to get after we found out that it belonged to "me"

My poor little Quin-y boy! RSV hit him so hard that he fell asleep all over the place. So unheard of for any of our kids!
Saying goodbye to pacifiers while facetiming dad!

Like little birds ha
These next photos all didn't load properly before and I'm not too tech savvy, so they're all a bit random, oops.
