March 2020

March was one for the books in more ways than one! We celebrated our trio's 2nd birthday, road-tripped to Washington for my sister's wedding which was totally derailed by the beginning of the worldwide pandemic, and then made it home just in time for empty stores and an earthquake. Thankfully the second half of March was very boring, though we are 90% we did in fact get sick with COVID-19 from our trip to WA.

Dillon and I both got sick with something unlike other illnesses we've had, but it was so early in the pandemic that despite calling the hotline and checking symptoms we didn't qualify for testing. We were told that it sounded like we were sick and to stay home and take care of ourselves. The kids didn't seem to notice that I fell asleep on the couch for three days in a row, but they sure enjoyed the extra TV time!

We quarantined ourselves for three weeks just to be safe, and then went back to our normal lives--which basically meant that we were doing what regular people were being told to do because the stay home order was essentially what our lives had been the last two years of being parents of triplets. Not much of an adjustment for us!

And now for the pictures! From my last post of February, we were in St George for the weekend so that's where it picks up the beginning of March.

Off to church! I think this was our last time before everything got canceled

At the duck pond

Lydia is quite the pine cone collector ha

We had a mini celebration for the babies' birthday with ice cream and brownies

Fun with Grandpa

One of our presents!

Just a bunch of playing pics

More 2 year old portraits

Birthday Cake! We celebrated with friends and family the weekend before.

Reading with Aunt Celeste

One of our presents! Specifically picked out to wear these energetic kids out!

On the drive to Washington on their actual birthday!

Our stop in Boise to get some energy out

We made it to Great Grandma Dee's house to celebrate these special kids!

Everyone got their own cake made specially by Grandma, and they thoroughly enjoyed the frosting!

The next day, we traveled to Seattle for the wedding and these kids were troopers and earned some tv downtime.

A nice bacon breakfast

One of their favorite shows is Cat in the Hat so we got them some Cat in the Hat sweatshirts. Such good models ha

Before everything shut down, we made it to the zoo! It was cold and rainy so we had the place to ourselves.

As things were shutting down and knowing that we wouldn't get to go to the store when we got home, we ran by a store to grab a few things. We were already met with empty shelves but snagged a few cans of beans. I'm guessing that's probably where we would have picked up the virus because that's the only place we were around lots of people.

The next day was the wedding, which was supposed to be at the Museum of Flight but was canceled as were were driving into town. My sister took it all in stride and figured out how to still pull off a great wedding last minute and with virtually no options.

Instead of a cake, she wanted pie (because she got married on pi day) so I made a few. And don't worry, the pants-less toddler did not touch any dough that was baked into a pie, though he was a good little helper while stirring.

Pike Place Market pretty dead

With severely limited options, my sister and husband chose the lookout area just outside Pike Place for their ceremony. It fit everyone, had great views, and was a wonderful and fitting place!

Lydia is such a goober and we love her for it! Here she is, pretending to sleep of course!

The very next morning at 7 am we booked it home. After having stayed up so late, the babies slept for three hours straight, which they don't even do at home in their beds let alone the car--they normally do 40 mins max in the car ha. So we didn't stop until late afternoon and still in pajamas!

We made it home, went to bed, then got up and resumed normal routines--lots of playing!

Nap time in their sleep sacks.

Lots of playing outside as it was sort of, kind of, maybe starting to warm up!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day from this stoic trio!

This was the day of the earthquake, which was a rough start to the day. The earthquake itself wasn't bad, it was the feeling of not being prepared to take care of my children since the previous week had left stores empty. Feeling out of control in regards to my responsibility to keep these kids safe was the worst part of the earthquake.

Lydia loved making birthday cakes out of blocks and singing Happy Birthday to anyone she could think of. It was pretty cuute!

2 year old check up! Everybody is right on track!

Outside with chalk

Doing home church since church was canceled

I definitely stress baked for a few weeks! Nobody seemed to mind ha

We started to gear up for Easter!

This girl keeps us laughing!
